The Ninja 400 replaced the Ninja 300 as Kawasaki's entry-level sportbike, a redesign driven largely by Euro 4 homologation. It uses a larger-bore, shorter-stroke 399 cc parallel twin on a new trellis frame, with an assist and slipper clutch, ABS and a low seat. The page presents it as lighter and more compact than the Ninja 300 and based closely on the Ninja 650R.
